Here’s a strange picture of Adam from 2005.

Old film scan, shot with the mamiya, 35mm wide angle lens.

I’ve still got a whole bunch of these older shots to post.

Let this serve as a warning.

On your 21st birthday, have one friend who is going to stay sober.
Have him keep your other friends from doing a birthday shot with you.
Even if you have a small thing, random people will show up during the night.
I lost track after 10 shots. I don’t even have many pictures from when I was sober.

I’ve got a whole lot of pictures from after I passed out though! They are sort of funny, actually.
My favorite thing is when someone took the camera to the apartment downstairs and took photos of Diego and Ashley and their cat. That’s amazing. haha

Well, my mom is going to be pissed I posted this.
She wants me to keep this blog professional.
Sorry mom. I won’t do it again.

I know you guys want to see the pictures though!

I ended up being really sick the next day. I hadn’t eaten before drinking (dumb move number one) and
I don’t remember anything after picture number nine. I was throwing up the whole next day,
couldn’t keep anything down. I threw up a lot. I was shaking, sweating, and turning slightly blue. Everything hurt.
Around 6 the next night Zachariah and Neil took me to the hospital.

We waited for a while, and when we finally got in, they gave me two bags of saline solution,
and an anti nausea drug. Beth came around that point and Zachariah and Neil went home.
I felt a little better and was able to eat two fries and a chicken nugget.
I was able to eat more that night, and have been able to eat today,
although my throat is very very sore, I feel very week, and I’m pretty out of it in general.

Anyway, I hope I didn’t worry anyone. I guess most people do this once in their life. My dad was angry (and concerned) at first,
but then later told me when he was 14 him and a friend drank a whole bottle of vodka and he puked the whole next day.

It’s hard to even think about alcohol right now.

Anyway, you can see the two full albums on facebook

Album One (60 Photos)

Album Two (60 Photos)

Hey everyone! Here are some photos from behind the scenes on a couple shoots for The South magazine. The new issue is out now, so I can show these now. They’re mostly taken on my Rolleicord V, but some are from my Mamiya 645 afd, and a few others are from Russ’s 1ds. Some of the ones towards the end are of me and vicki messing about and testing the lights for her shoot. If you want to see the actual shots from the shoot, you’re going to have to pick up the magazine, sorry, I don’t own the rights to those. :)

Oh, the 2007 Photobloggies awards are open for nomination now! I don’t think many people know about my blog, so if you want to nominate me in a couple categories, it could really help to get the word out. It only takes a couple seconds to paste some URLs over there.

It almost seems like I’m creating photographs faster than I can post them. I’ve just edited some more out today from my shoots folder and while I’m trying to just pick the best or most interesting (in terms of behind the scenes or daily life type stuff) it still seems like there’s just so many. I’ve got 160 or so photos in my to post folder already.

So it seems a lot of these entries will be multiple photo posts. I’m sorry if some of them seem huge, but it makes more sense to me than posting something like this in 56 separate entries, or even two or so separate entries. I’ll try to keep to one photo post per day though, as usual.

Aw, kid photos.

I just got back from being out tonight (two shows and a party), and I’ve been up since 3 am yesterday (for the District stuff).
Tomorrow I’m going to be doing a whole lot of processing and resizing, etc.

So today, this sorta laid back little update. I’m the one with the brown hair and the dorky smile
(although I actually used to be platinum blonde when I was really young. Crazy!)
These are all hosted on facebook so I hope my sister doesn’t take them down.

Here are the candid party shots from January 20th. Enjoy!

The entire night:
Gallery One on facebook (60 pictures)
Gallery Two on facebook (51 pictures)

Now I have to get to sleep, because I have to get up at 3am to be at Key’s hall at 4:45, since we’re going to the Georgia Collegiate Press Awards.
Our paper has been nominated for 7 awards, and as the photo editor, I gotta head out.
We’re at least third place in all of those, because of the way it works, so that’s pretty sweet.
I’ll let you all know if we get any photo awards!

What is it about song that makes us desire to love?

Hey guys. Some news, to start out with.

The P3 Image competition winners gallery is up now, so you can see my stuff online there, as well as the other winning entries.

Also, I’m a finalist again in the Best of College Photography contest from Photographer’s Forum. So I’ll be in the 2007 annual, and I’m in the running for first through third or honorable mentions. Wish me luck! I’ll let you know as soon as I know what image was selected.

Coley is back in town for a little bit! He played a show tonight, with Stephen (as Deth Gate, with their mindshattering spectral soundscapes) and I really dug it. They played around with a lot more than just the keyboard/synth and drums this time, using samples, this thing that measures electrical fields or something to make noise, overall pretty badass. It was the Unsolved Mysteries CD release party, and I really loved that set too.

Also playing with Unsolved Mysteries was this gal with a lovely smile who gave me her CD, and apparently it’s online too, so you really should check it out! It’s hosted at Birdsong, which I’m guessing is an Isreali music collective. I’m enjoying it a lot, she’s got a lovely voice and a playful approach to music making that I find very addictive. I don’t know what I expected, but this is definitely one of the better albums someone has given me for free at a show. She’s just starting out at SCAD as a sound design major, and if this little “careless experiment” is anything representative of what she’s capable of, I’m sure she’ll go really far. Anyway, let me know what you think about it.

hey, here’s a lesson on what not to do:

When using a wide angle lens with a lens shade, make sure the lens shade is all the way screwed on. Haha, check that vignetting. Anyway, this is a slide film scan from some time first quarter last year. I think it was from a series of film tests.

I’m gonna post an entire film/equipment test I did last year tomorrow. It was all on slide film in 2005.. maybe january 2006, testing autofocus on one lens and different shooting conditions with people. I’ve figured out the best ways to use autofocus now, but it’s hard to use under some lighting conditions. Anyway, I’ll let you see the results.
