Experimentation, Manipulation, Innovation
Saturday May 27th, 8pm
Mondonaro Theatre in Crites Hall
217 MLK Blvd.
It’s about Video Artworks that stray from traditional narrative themes.
A stop motion animation I did made it into the show, I hope you all find time to check it out.
Most of the pieces are under 5 minutes. It should be a really cool show.

I’ll be in Mass around June 3rd, and then in New York city by the 25th. I’ll be in NYC through July and August, in case you want to say hi to me there. This quarter at SCAD is finishing up, and I’m not sleeping much, and not doing enough in the way of really interesting work either since I have a lot of standard life stuff to get out of the way, putting stuff in storage, art history exams, etc. I hope to do a fair amount of personal work this summer.

As does the following: When people are downloading your pirated texts for free, it means you’re already pretty widely distributed. I view downloading as a sort of natural, organic tax on reputation.
Buying used copies is ecologically correct and to be encouraged. The list price on a hardcover PATTERN RECOGNITION in Canada is $40. After GST and PST, that would be closer to $50. When people have the courage to shyly tell me they’re waiting for the paperback, I’m all the more amazed and flattered at the number of people who buy me in hardcover. I didn’t start buying new fiction in hardcover until I was in my thirties and owned a house. And most of the paperbacks I bought, up to that point, I bought used.

An experimental project for my Advanced Color Printmaking class.
The last experimental project was a darkroom project, Stills From a Film.
This one is a digital project, shot all at high ISO and with all adjustments done in RAW processing before bringing into Photoshop for resizing/printing.
The main difference between photo work and other work, is that when I pull an all nighter doing photography work, I don’t need caffeine. My grammar and spelling doesn’t get any better as the sleepless nights pile up though, haha

The Society for Collegiate Journalists. I had been invited to join last week.
In addition, I was awarded, by the Savannah College of Art and Design Student Media, Best New Photographer for the 2005-2006 school year.
In a less formal setting later that afternoon, during a barbeque, I was also awarded Stealthiest Ninja by the SCAD Radio General Manager.
Here is an unrelated picture from the Roller Skating rink:

Extraordinary Spaceman Adventures (Stills From a Film)
Printed from slide film in the darkroom using my reversal contact printing method, no modification beyond minor dodging and burning in the darkroom.
