The first edition of the first issue of Blowing Fog is complete! This issue, titled “All Images Blatantly Stolen,” is mostly about flickr. It clocks in at 44 pages including the front and back cover – where I’ve scribbled my signature under a lovely image of me.
I think most of you will enjoy it. Yes, “blatently” is spelled “blatantly” in real life, the copy pictured has a typo and the others are already dropped off for display (issue 02 is “All Images Blatantly Curated” – stick around for news about that).

It cost me 11 dollars each to print, and I’m selling the color issues for 10 dollars. To make up for the difference, there is also a b+w edition, which cost me a big less, for 5 dollars. There are six signed and numbered copies in each edition.
Blowing Fog will always be sold at cost. Well, by me anyway, you can do whatever you want with your copy. You can find it tonight at Shop the M.O.P at Desoto Row in Savannah, GA.
If any are left from the first edition, I will make them available online for the same price (cost+shipping). Here’s some shots of the little bugger in action!

Ian, this is brilliant.
You were pretty fast from concept to production. If I had money I would totally buy this.

It turned out a bit differently from what I expected – and I’m hoping I’ll still get to do the issue focusing specifically on assistants on commercial shoots. I’ll just need to have the cooperation of a lot of commercial photographers to get access to their outtakes. I’d give credit for those, of course.
For this one, there was something cathartic about making a book almost entirely composted of screenshots of images that people disabled saving on – I’d say “who would want a copy of your picture of all your stupid equipment?” but it wouldn’t make sense, obviously I wanted it.

I really do hope that you got permission from and gave credit to those whose pictures are in this book.
